Fact – In the viral video, the woman was not harassed for not wearing a hijab. She is also not an American citizen, but a Bangladeshi model Misty Subas.
A video is being circulated on social media platform X with claims that a woman is being harassed for not wearing a hijab. The video shows a woman sitting in a rickshaw while some young boys are pushing the rickshaw from behind. Additionally, other posts on X claim that she is an American citizen who came to Bangladesh on vacation and is being harassed. See the videos here, here, and here.

Fact check/Verification
To verify the viral post we performed key-frame analysis and reverse searches of the video and found several similar videos on YouTube. See the videos here and here.
The videos reveal that she is a Bangladeshi model named Misty Subas. Watch a report on her by SA TV here. She was also a leader of the Bangamata Cultural Alliance. Daily Inqilab
On September 29, she appeared at TSC with a cake to celebrate Sheikh Hasina’s birthday. There, she chanted slogans like “Happy, happy day, my leader Sheikh Hasina’s birthday.” Subsequently, the children and teenagers present there started chanting “The tyrant’s birthday” and engaged in a dispute with her. However, the entire video does not indicate that she was harassed for not wearing a hijab. Misty Subas does not claim such a reason in any of the videos.
Later on, she told the journalists present on the spot that she had reached there to celebrate Sheikh Hasina’s birthday ( which is on September 28), and that’s why she came to cut the cake at the Raju Bhaskorjo.
