Fact

To verify the authenticity of the matter, a reverse image search of keyframes from the video led to the original video published on the private television channel ‘RTV’s YouTube channel on July 31, titled “I did not come to power for luxury and comfort: Prime Minister.”

The mentioned video resembles the claimed viral video. The audio portion of the viral video matches entirely with the segment from 3 minutes to 5 minutes and 54 seconds of the original video.

A comparison of the viral video(left) and the original video(right)

This video was originally recorded on July 31 during the inaugural ceremony of National Fisheries Week at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital, where then-Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina delivered a speech.

In other words, a video of Sheikh Hasina’s speech from last July, during her tenure as Prime Minister, has recently been falsely circulated on the internet, claiming it to be a live speech from India, which is completely misleading. See reports on the July-August movement here and here

Result: False
