Fact
Reverse image search of the photo in the viral video reveals the original image in a report published on the Bangladesh news agency’s portal on June 9, 2024, titled “Sheikh Hasina, Narendra Modi exchange pleasantries.”
According to the report, it is learned that this is a photo taken at the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi and 72 ministers and deputy ministers of India’s new coalition government at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
Further investigation on this matter from a report by mainstream media Somoy Television published on June 9, 2024, featuring the discussed image here reveals that in a grand ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi, India’s capital, Narendra Modi, along with a total of 72 ministers and deputy ministers, took oath. After the swearing-in, guests, including Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, were called to the stage for a photo session. At that time, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu took photos with the present guests.

Additionally, from a report published by Indian mediaHindustan Times on June 10, 2024, Sri Lanka’s then President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Bhutan’s Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, Nepal’s then Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Mauritius’s then Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, Seychelles’ then Vice President Ahmed Afif, and Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu were seated next to Sheikh Hasina at the swearing-in ceremony. In other words, no such incident occurred at that time regarding assurances to bring Sheikh Hasina as Bangladesh’s Prime Minister at the said meeting of Prime Ministers in India.
Therefore, the photo taken at Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony in June 2024 is being circulated, claiming her presence at a recent Prime Ministers’ meeting in India, which is false.
