Upon verifying the viral video claiming the arrest of Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, it was found that the viral video is not recent. A relevant keyword search was conducted using news clips from the viral video.
The viral videos claim that Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman was arrested from his residence in Bashundhara Residential Area under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
Investigations reveal multiple news reports related to Dr. Shafiqur Rahman’s arrest. However, none of these reports are recent; they are from 2022. Channel 24’s official YouTube channel published a news report titled ‘Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman Arrested’ on December 13, 2022. See the report here.
