A video has gone viral on social media platforms with the claim that Muslims are being tortured in India by the Hindus. The video shows that a man was pulling another old man’s beard and assaulting the old man. See the videos here, here, here and here.

Fact check/ Verification
While verifying the video, we conducted a few reverse image searches, revealing a short YouTube video by the Middle East Eye. In the video, we found the exact frames that match the viral video with a different context. The video was uploaded on October 27, 2024. See the video here.
The Middle East Eye uploaded the video with the caption, ‘RSF (a paramilitary force active in Sudan) kills civilians in Gezira state according to aid groups.’ That YouTube short video of Middle East Eye mentioned in the description that RSF attacks in Sudan’s Gezira state have killed dozens of civilians and displaced thousands. A doctors’ union and youth group reported RSF forces looting, damaging property, and leaving dozens dead.’
Further searches helped us explore a report by Sudan Tribune with a photo matching the viral video’s frame. The report was published on October 25, 2024. See the report here- Sudan Tribune.
As per the report the incident took place in Al Jazirah state in Sudan. And the man pulling the old man’s beard was an RSF officer. It happened when the RSF ran a campaign in the state against the unarmed civilians. During the violence around 50 people were killed and 200 people were left injured says the residents(according to the report).
Reports of violence by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan have been documented by organizations like Human Rights Watch and Reuters.
Conclusion:
Hence it is confirmed that the viral video showing an old man being tortured is not from India but from Sudan. Therefore, the claim that the Hindus are assaulting Indian Muslims is false.
