Fact
The viral video frame reverse image search reveals a video similar to the one from the TikTok account “dhenyprasetyo” dated August 29, which has been discussed. The video caption “demo Jakarta chaos” indicates that the footage is from Indonesia. Subsequently, the same video was posted on another TikTok account on August 31, where the title confirms that the scene depicts a police assault at a protest held in Indonesia.
Notably, protests began on August 25 over the decision to raise MPs’ monthly allowances in Indonesia and escalated into violence by the night of August 28. During clashes with the police, a 21-year-old motorbike rider, who was employed in a ride-hailing service in Jakarta, was killed after being run over by a police vehicle. Following this incident, protests spread to various island regions, including West Java, Bali, and Lombok.
Thus, the video discussed was published on social media before the clashes in Khagrachari. Consequently, the video depicted from the Indonesian protest has been circulated in recent times as footage of the Khagrachari clashes, which is false.
