Claim – Iran attacked the CIA headquarters in Dubai.
Fact – The video is from 2015 when a fire broke out in a high-rise building in Sharjah, the capital of the United Arab Emirates .
Recently, a video has gone viral on the social media platform TikTok, claiming that Iran’s attack has blown up the headquarters of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) located in Dubai. In the viral video, smoke is coming out of a fire in a high-rise building. Watch the video here.

Newschecker has verified the claim and found it to be false.
To verify the authenticity of the video, we conducted a reverse image search and found that the location shown in the video is not the CIA headquarters in America.
Through reverse image search, we found multiple similar videos. An Arab News report containing the same video confirms that the footage is from a fire incident in a high-rise building in Sharjah, and this happened in 2015. It is not a video of any attack carried out by Iran or an attack on the CIA headquarters.
Additionally, relevant keyword searches yielded other reports, such as:The National UAE channel,Khaleej Times, andFox News.
The video is not recent, which is also confirmed by multiple YouTube videos (1& 2). The mentioned videos and reports are from early October 2015.
The building is being shown as [suspicious link removed] Nasser Tower, which is not the CIA headquarters.
Moreover, the CIA does not have any headquarters in Dubai. According to the CIA’s official website, it is known that the CIA’s headquarters is located in Langley, Virginia, United States.
The viral video claiming an Iranian attack on the CIA headquarters is not true. The video is from a 10-year-old fire incident at Sharjah’s Nasser Tower.
