Fact check/Verification

Upon conducting a Google keyword search we discovered that the viral “4-day holiday notice” is edited and does not match the original notice issued by the Ministry of Public Administration. See the original notice here- Ministry Of Public Administration

Looking forward to the upcoming 12th national parliament election of Bangladesh on January 7 the Ministry of Public Administration has announced a general holiday on January 7. See the original notice here-

The notice was published on 28th of December, 2023 signed by Sonia Hasan, an undersecretary from the concerned ministry. According to the original notice, a general holiday has been announced on 7 January 2024 Sunday due to the election.

On the other hand, we have noticed several flaws in the viral notice which include spelling errors, wrong dates, and memorandum numbers.

Conclusion

The viral notice announcing a 4-day holiday due to the elections is fake and edited.

Result: False
